Long for the LG G4? Enter to test it ahead of launch

Loving the look of the new leather-clad LG G4? Well, good news folks. If you’re an eager beaver when it comes to all things tech, then you’ll be happy to hear there’s a way you can get your hands on it before its May 28 release date.
LG is offering 200 lucky Brits early access to the brand new LG G4, which we got a first look at this week.
The South Korean company is seeking willing folk to give feedback on its latest flagship handset, before it goes on sale to the public.
The fortunate few will be able to use the G4 for 6 weeks, after which they’ll be required to send the phone back or purchase it at a discounted rate. If the deadline is missed, then LG will take the £250 guarantee that’s initially set up.
Piqued your interest? Well, you have until May 13 to sign up – which you can do here. LG will announce the winners on May 15, so cross your fingers.
Best of all, 44 of the 200 participants will also have the chance to win and keep the device when the campaign is over.
You won’t have bragging rights for too long though, as the G4 comes out in the UK on May 28.
So far so good for the G4, which certainly raised eyebrows when it debuted with its tanned leather rear.
The £500 phablet is tipped to be LG’s finest phone yet, boasting a 5.5-inch QHD display, a 16-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 808 chip and 3GB RAM. It also has a 3000mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop on board.
Can’t make your mind up about it? Check out our LG G4 hands-on review for a help in hand.

LG G4 low-light love-in set for April 28

We've had the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 already this year, so now it's LG's turn to wow us with its latest flagship in the form of the LG G4 - and it'll do just that on April 28.
Official invites have been sent out for the LG G4 launch on April 28, where we'll see the Korean firm's latest attempt to dominate the top of the mobile market.
The LG G3 caught our attention last year with its super high resolution QHD (2K) display, and LG looks set to repeat the trick this time around with the G4.
If you care about the camera on your smartphone it looks like the LG G4 could be a real winner, with a low-light busting f1.8 aperture potentially resulting in a snapper that can actually handle all those dingy nightclub shots.
We're not too sure about the design of the handset though, with the invite and previous 'save the date' card both going heavy on leather - which would be interesting to say the least.

Looking over their shoulder

We've already seen some of the big guns launch their 2015 flagship devices, so the LG G4 will enter an already highly competitive market. Here are the main contenders it's up against.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung has finally gone stylish with the Galaxy S6 sporting a metal-glass construction which looks and feels as premium as the price tag.
You get a cracking 2K display, plenty of power under the hood and a decent 16MP camera on the back making this a quality all rounder.

HTC One M9

If design is your bag then the HTC One M9 is one of the best looking smartphones around, with a deliciously curvy all-metal chassis that slips seductively into the palm.
The front facing Boomsound speakers give your tunes and movies added oomph, while the 20MP camera on the rear has been upgraded from the 4MP Duo camera which adorned its predecessor.

iPhone 6

You can never overlook the iPhone when you're talking about the top mobiles around, and Apple's latest iteration now sports a pleasingly sized 4.7-inch display making apps, games and movies so much better.
The iPhone will always divide opinion, so you'll probably either love it or hate it, but for those with a passion for iTunes, a lust of iOS and an appetite for quality apps - well look no further than the iPhone 6.
